My name's Chris. Rumeau Design Co (RDC) is my studio. I'm a brand designer, illustrator, and typographer based in New Jersey (NJ). I primarily design visual identities and merch for apparel brands and musicians.
I sketch extensively before anything goes digital. Most reference comes from pre-internet sources: Type specimens, vintage packaging, hand-painted signage, ephemera from flea markets and library archives.
I studied design academically (Pratt Institute 2016, Montclair State University 2019) and practice figure drawing and painting regularly as core disciplines to inform how I see shape, composition, and form.
I work best with clients who already have strong taste or strong ambition and need a designer who can match it. Mainly apparel startups building something that could sit next to Brixton or Seager on a shelf. Bands who want merch that people actually want to wear.
